Marco Island Safari Truck Tour

Frequently Asked Questions

Here's a list of questions we get asked all the time about our Safari Truck and the sightseeing tours we do.

Best time of year to see wildlife on the safari truck tour?
1) What animals might we see, and what time of the year is best?

Any time of the year is good to see wildlife on the Safari Truck. We have a very high chance of seeing burrowing owls, green iguanas, white ibis and gopher tortoise on the safari truck year round. If you are visiting during November through April, we should be able to spot bald eagles and osprey too! Everything we see is viewed from the comfort of the safari truck. We do not pet or touch any animals on the tour.

Can I book a private party?
2) Can I book a private party?

Yes! Our Safari truck currently can take up to 14 passengers. Whether it's birthday parties, reunions, weddings and corporate events... we have you covered. During the month of December, our Safari Truck typically sells out for our "Tour of the Christmas Lights" every evening. So book your friends and family, listen to christmas music and sip on hot cocoa as we drive you around Marco Island showing you the best decorated homes. Private tours can be any time of the day for as long as you need. We can pick you up at your hotel, resort or home on Marco Island!

What do we do if it rains?
3) What do we do if it rains?

During the dry season (October through May) you won't have to worry about rain very often, so we operate from morning until early afternoon. During the wet season (June through September) you can expect it to rain typically in the afternoons, which is why we just operate morning tours in the summer. If its raining at the time of the tour departure you'll either be refunded or we can reschedule you. If it rains during our tour, depending on the intensity, we'll either head back and cancel or continue the tour.

Is the Safari Truck good for kids?
4) Is the Safari Truck good for kids?

Absolutely! This is one best kids experiences on Marco Island for children! Where else can a kid brag that they got to ride in a real safari truck? We even have an on-board scavenger hunt for the kids... so tell them to be on the lookout for certain wildlife, landmarks and more. Kids can win a prize at the end if they find all of the items on the scavenger hunt. All of our seats have seatbelts. Infants under age 1 are not permitted unless you call us first and get prior approval. Kids ages 1-9 ride for only $34.99 on our regular 1 hour and 30 minute safari truck ride around Marco Island.

Is your safari truck wheelchair friendly?
5) Is your safari truck wheelchair friendly?

Yes, we follow all required federal ADA laws. Our safari truck is outfitted a wheelchair lift that can accomodate a 500 lb rider. Please give us 48 HOURS advance notice if you need wheelchair assistance. Please remember, when you book your tour online to select "I am in a wheelchair." If you show up without letting us know you need wheelchair accomodations, then you may be rescheduled to a later date.

Can I smoke or drink alcohol on the tour?
6) Can I smoke, drink or eat on the safari truck?

Sorry! No smoking, vaping or drinking alcohol on our tours. We do allow bottled non-alcoholic beverages to be brought on board or kids snacks if needed.

What happens if I miss the tour departure, do I get a refund?
7) What happens if I miss the tour departure, do I get a refund?

If you miss your tour and we held a seat for you, then unfortunatly we can't offer a refund since we turned people away for your seat(s). You can re-book online or contact us and we'll try to get you on the next available tour departure.

Is there a bathroom on board?
8) Is there a bathroom on board?

We do not have a bathroom on board the safari truck, however, you can use our bathroom in our parking lot before we depart. We can also stop halfway through the tour to use a public restroom if you desire... but most people do just fine lasting an hour and a half without needing the restroom.

Can I bring my dog on the tour?
9) Can I bring my dog on the tour?

We are big animal lovers! However, since we are in an open-air moving vehicle with other passengers, we can't allow animals on the truck. We also may be spotting wildlife near the side of the road and we do not want to startle the wildlife.

What clothing should I wear on the tour?
10) What clothes should I wear on the safari truck?

Most of the time, you'll be just fine in a T-shirt and shorts. You'll love the breeze as we cruise down the road on a hot summer day. During winter, it may get a bit chilly in the mornings as we drive. Since we are in an open-air safari truck, we recommend at least bringing a sweat shirt if its cold (under 70 degrees). We drive a maximum of 30 MPH on the tour. We also have blankets on board but we rarely need them.
